It's kind of sweet we way we all live our lives according to empirically positivist mantras like 'onwards and upwards' and 'everyday in every way I'm getting better and better'. Truth is: we never change, do we?
No, I don't think we do. In small ways, maybe, but our basic selves seem to remain. We keep trying, part of the human condition. Rather sad yet what else is there to do?
Trite but true phrases like this bring to mind one of my favourite bits of Frank O'Hara:
"I wish I were reeling around Paris / instead of reeling around New York / I wish I weren't reeling at all / it is Spring the ice has melted, the Ricard is being poured / we are all happy and young and toothless / it is the same as old age / the only thing to do is simply continue / is that simple / yes, it is simple because it is the only thing to do / can you do it / yes, you can because it is the only thing that you can do"

Truth is a relative fiction. All fiction... all change... all the same.
Does it even matter?
Snap or clap or do a little dance.
Show up for another day.
Snap, or clap or do a little dance?!?!?!?!
PSHAW!
Keep on keepin' on! (I couldn't resist.)

Aren't we too philosophical today?

Both you and switchsky have new blogger id photos. Is this to appeal to your call for glam?
I like this image a lot.
despair.com is one anti-venom to many of this world's trite overly positive bullshit. I get a kick out of it, but then again I like Barry Manilow.
